Dorchester Sailing Club is a family-friendly club in the Thames Valley, situated just off the A415/A4074 less than half a mile from the picturesque village of Dorchester-on-Thames. It provides an ideal environment for both new and experienced sailors.
New members are always welcome. Come along to the Club any Sunday morning: after about 10.30 is best to see us in action. Make yourself known to the Officer of the Day or any other friendly sailor to find out what DSC has to offer.
The Club has activities throughout the year: racing, leisure and training. Regular handicap racing takes place on Sundays (and Wednesday evenings in the summer). As a recognised RYA Sail Training Centre and Champion Club, a variety of courses are run through the year catering for: novice sailors, those requiring refresher courses to improve their individual skills, intermediates and advanced racers. As a family orientated club, particular emphasis is placed on junior and youth training and skills development (utilising the club fleet of Optimists, Toppers and RS Fevas) and organised activities.
All the club owned boats - which currently includes GP14, Wayfarer, Enterprise and Laser dinghies (as well as RS Feva, Topper and Optimist) are available for day or half-day hire (to members only) at very reasonable rates.
The Club has a large and secure boat compound with easy access to the water from two slipways and a shallow beach for safe launching. Boats of all classes are welcome up to a length of 16ft.
With lakeside parking and plenty of space for picnics, as well as a modern clubhouse, the mature 40-acre Lagoon - with its own islands - is an excellent place to spend a day or even the weekend (camping is permitted).
