Fresh from winning the European Yacht of The Year Award in the Multihull Category, Nautitech is doubling down on customer experience by embracing the latest wireless technology.

Nautitech's 44 Open was awarded the prestigious European Yacht of the Year award in the Multihull category for delivering the perfect balance between comfort and performance - empowering owners for all types of sailing.

This drive to facilitate an all-round exceptional experience has led Nautitech to offer a new wireless load monitoring system as an integration to its range of sailing catamarans. Providing close control over performance, easy, comfortable sailing, and enhanced safety, the system has been delivered to one Nautitech customer so far, but is available (on request) to all Nautitech customers and is manufactured by market leaders in load monitoring, Cyclops Marine.

Three devices, one smart system

Nautitech catamarans are optimised to perform at high levels. This brings a world of enjoyment, but pushing performance hard on any boat can lead to rig overload, which can increase the risk of damage.

Easily swapping for your existing turnbuckles, the installation of two smarttune sensors (pictured below) to each cap shroud provides owners with key rig loads on their onboard displays, smartphone or tablet. The two smarttune sensors connect via Bluetooth to your instrumentation - wireless connection between the three elements of the system giving you ultimate control.

Additional load sensing devices are available to add to any part of the rig if desired.

Safety

The simple installation of the sensors to either side of the rig provides a centralised data display on your instruments or mobile device - with second by second load data to let you know when to take action to keep the boat safe.

Simplicity

The load data can be displayed in multiple formats - either as raw numbers on screen, or as an intuitive dial in green, amber or red to indicate safety level. All data is also logged for later viewing and analysis.

The green zone offers great reassurance to sailors and passengers that the boat is well within its limits.

Amber lets you know that you should be aware, should loads increase much further.

When the dial hits the red zone, it's time to take action to depower the rig.

Efficient & Easy Sailing

Monitoring your loads also allows you to set up to an efficient setting and stay there, for easier, more comfortable passages. Just set yourself up for the conditions and keep an eye on the numbers/colours being displayed. Hit the same numbers time and time again for ease and control.

Performance

Creators of the system, Cyclops Marine have popularised load sensing at every level of racing, having delivered high-performance sensing solutions to everyone from America's Cup & IMOCA teams down to weekend dinghy sailors.

The live load data allows you to learn your fastest numbers, adjust your rig to optimal settings, and enjoy sailing fast - pushing hard, safe in the knowledge that you are within recommended loading limits.

Gildas Le Masson, CEO, Nautitech Catamarans:

"At Nautitech, we aim to remove all obstacles to pleasure onboard our yachts. This new system allows our customers to sail confidently and relax more, with peace of mind - knowing they are getting the most out of their yacht, wherever their adventures may take them".
